Collection: Terracotta / Saltillo Care

The timeless beauty of Saltillo and Terracotta has made this material a favourite choice for a unique rustic look. Saltillo Tiles are handmade using century old traditional methods. The tiles are made one at a time by hand from natural clay deposits from the region of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The clay is excavated, mixed with water, formed into tile shapes then dried in the sun before being placed in cave like kiln to be fired. This traditional production process creates both beauty and character and means each tile is unique and interesting. Being handmade means there will always be some imperfections, irregular edges, variations of shade and size.
