Travertine

A calcium-based limestone with natural holes and a warm, earthy look for floors, walls and pools.

Travertine is a form of limestone created by mineral springs, recognised by its natural pores, holes and banding. It is used for floors, bathrooms, feature walls, pool surrounds and paving, in honed, tumbled, filled and unfilled finishes.

Travertine is porous and acid-sensitive, so it can stain from oils and drinks and etch from acidic spills or cleaners. Sealing helps reduce staining and makes cleaning easier, and open holes can trap dirt outdoors. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar and pool acid splash; use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a poultice for deeper stains.
